Throwback Thursday: Another Flea Flicker All-Time NFL Team

Feeling kinda football. Feeling kinda all-time team. Feeling kinda Sammy Baugh. It's time for another All-Time NFL Team. And it's Baugh's turn to lead the team. So many fantastic players have played in the NFL that there can be countless All-Time teams. Each can be argued. Each is valid. As long as each has Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor on it. Maybe Jim Brown too. This one has all three. And Sammy Baugh. Until the next one, here's the Flea Flicker All-Time Team.

Quarterback
Sammy Baugh

Running backs
Jim Brown
Adrian Peterson

Receiver
Jerry Rice
Cris Carter

Tight end
Rob Gronkowski

Tackles
Jim Parker
Roosevelt Brown

Guards
Randall McDaniel
Larry Allen

Center
Mel Hein

Defensive ends
Gino Marchetti
Reggie White

Defensive tackles
Alan Page
Joe Greene

Linebackers
Jack Ham
Ray Nitschke
Lawrence Taylor

Cornerbacks
Deion Sanders
Mel Blount

Safeties
Ed Reed
Johnny Robinson

Kicker
Adam Vinatieri

Punter
Ray Guy

I have three active players on this team. Adrian Peterson, Rob Gronkowski, and Adam Vinatieri. Peterson and Gronkowski should be first-ballot Hall of Famers. Vinatieri should make it too and his wait for that call should be a short one for a kicker. Neither safety is in the Hall of Fame. Ed Reed will be as soon as he's eligible. Johnny Robinson should be. His absence from Canton is one of the most ridiculous.

Congratulations to all of the very deserving members of this team.

  1. Glad you don't have Brady at QB like the ESPN-type people would.

  2. I tend to fall back on Baugh and Otto Graham as the best QBs in NFL history. You really can't go wrong with any of the greats. Unitas, Montana, Marino, Baugh, and Graham. Some might say that Sonny Jurgensen was the best thrower. I, personally, don't think that anyone threw a prettier pass than Warren Moon. Maybe Jeff George. But he was a turd. John Elway, Steve Young, and Aaron Rodgers were/are probably three of the most physically gifted throwers that I've ever seen. Brett Favre was fun. Especially 2009. I'd love to have seen Bobby Layne, Y.A. Tittle, Baugh, and Graham play a game live. You can see highlights but it's not the same. All that being said, Ton Brady is a great quarterback. Definitely top-10. There aren't a lot of QBs with at least 4 titles. Luckman, Graham, Starr, Bradshaw, Monatana, and Brady are the only ones that come to mind now.
