Throwback Thursday: All-Time Minnesota Vikings Team

All the talk and thoughts triggered by the induction of receiving great Randy Moss into the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor got me thinking again of the best players in team history. So here's another Flea Flicker All-Time Minnesota Vikings Team. It's very similar to the last one.

Offense

Quarterback
Fran Tarkenton

Running Backs
Adrian Peterson
Chuck Foreman

Fullback
Bill Brown

Receivers
Cris Carter
Randy Moss

Tight End
Steve Jordan

Tackles
Ron Yary
Gary Zimmerman

Guards
Randall McDaniel
Steve Hutchinson

Center
Mick Tingelhoff

Defense

Defensive Ends
Carl Eller
Chris Doleman

Defensive Tackles
Alan Page
John Randle

Linebackers
Matt Blair
Jeff Siemon
Chad Greenway

Cornerbacks
Xavier Rhodes
Bobby Bryant

Safeties
Paul Krause
Joey Browner

Kicker
Ryan Longwell

Punter
Chris Kluwe

Kick Returner
Cordarrelle Patterson

Punt Returner
Marcus Sherels

I don't always include a fullback but the team just feels better and tougher with Bill Brown on it.

This Vikings All-Time Team includes 11 Hall of Fame players.

Fran Tarkenton
Cris Carter
Ron Yary
Gary Zimmerman
Randall McDaniel
Mick Tingelhoff
Carl Eller
Chris Doleman
Alan Page
John Randle
Paul Krause

Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson and Steve Hutchinson will join them in Canton. Moss and Hutchinson could be there as soon as next summer.

Defensive line has been a franchise strength. It's such a strength that an all-timer Jared Allen doesn't make the starting lineup of the team. Keith Millard too. If injuries hadn't derailed his career he'd already be in Canton.

Receiver has also been a position of strength throughout the team's history. It would take a truly unbelievable pass-catcher to ever dislodge Cris Carter or Randy Moss.

Linebacker is the position that could change the most in coming years. Current linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks were drafted in 2014 and 2015 respectively. They are both making serious runs at a place on this team.

Until the next one.
