Minnesota Vikings Week 18 Superlatives

The Minnesota Vikings 2023 season came to end against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. 30-20. The two players that shined the brightest against the Lions are the two players that shined the brightest when they were on the field all season.

Offensive Player of the Game
Justin Jefferson, WR

Justin Jefferson was brilliant. Again.

12 catches
192 yards
1 TD (38)

Through his four seasons, Jefferson has routinely taken apart the Lions secondary. He does that to a lot of teams. The 192 yards on Sunday bumped his season total to 1074 yards. He accumulated those yards in about 8.5 games of action. 1074 yards in half a season. Incredible.

Justin Jefferson is incredible. Getting him signed is priority #1 this offseason.

Defensive Player of the Game
Danielle Hunter, OLB

His numbers against the Lions:
6 tackles
1 sack
2 tackles for loss

It’s been a few weeks since Danielle Hunter collected a sack. Even when he’s not collecting sacks, he’s making an impact and disrupting the intentions and hopes of offenses. He’s been brilliant all season. Rushing the passer, corralling ball-carriers, in the backfield, sideline to sideline, he’s a complete edge player. This has been the best season of his career.

Danielle Hunter is incredible. Getting him signed is priority #2 this offseason.
