Alan Page Community Award Finalists

The NFL Players Association announced the five finalists for the 2024 NFLPA Alan Page Community Award.

Harrison Phillips, Minnesota Vikings
Calais Campbell, Atlanta Falcons
Damar Hamlin, Buffalo Bills
Charles Leno, Jr., Washington Commanders
Frank Ragnow, Detroit Lions

Each will receive a $10,000 donation from the NFLPA toward the foundation or charity of his choice.

From the NFLPA Website:
The Alan Page Community Award is the highest honor that the NFLPA can bestow upon a player. The award annually recognizes one union member who goes above and beyond to perform community service in his team city and/or hometown.

The award is named for former Minnesota Vikings Hall of Fame defensive tackle Alan Page. He was one of the greatest defensive tackles of his and any era. His post-playing career was even more remarkable than his playing career. He was the first African-American elected to the Minnesota Supreme Court, where he served until 2015. Through the Page Education Foundation, founded by him and his late wife Diane, minority students are provided with financial and mentoring assistance in exchange for the student’s commitment too engage in community volunteer work.

While every player up for the various community service awards is deserving for the great work that they do, it would fitting for a current Vikings defensive tackle, Harrison Phillips, to receive an award named for a former Vikings defensive tackle, Alan Page.

The winner of the 2024 Alan Page Community Award will be determined next week through a league-wide digital vote by their NFL peers. The winner will be announced on February 7 at the NFLPA’s Super Bowl press conference in Las Vegas. An additional donation of $100,000 will be made to the foundation or charity of his choice.
