The Minnesota Vikings have made some tweaks to the roster this week. A couple days before the start of training camp, the Vikings signed veteran safety/linebacker Jamal Adams. A experienced, versatile defender such as Adams could thrive in a defense crafted by defensive coordinator Brian Flores. In only a couple of weeks Adams was thriving. He projected to be a key contributor this season. Well, it all came to an end in Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Giants as Adams suffered a torn right quadriceps tendon. It was a non-contact injury on the shit surface of MetLife Stadium. His first season with the Vikings is over before it started. Roster tweaks during training camp are done for a variety of reasons. Roster tweaks due to an injury are always the worst possible reason.

Signed CB Bryce Phillips
Signed OLB Kenny Dyson
Waived OLB Arden Walker
Bryce Phillips is an undrafted rookie out of San Diego State. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs following the draft but was recently waived. Kenny Dyson signed with the Carolina Panthers after going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on the Panthers practice squad. He was waived after the 2025 NFL Draft and. didn’t sign with any NFL club during the season. Dyson played for the UFL’s Houston Gamblers in the spring.
