Week 10! My goodness, the Minnesota Vikings have been stuck on their Week 6 bye. They have to catch up with the rest of the league. Now! The NFL waits for no team. Here are the picks.
Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins
Pick: Vikings
This is the sixth time that the Redskins have been on the Vikings schedule since 2010. It's been a good thing as the Vikings have won four of the previous five games. This has to be the fifth.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Carolina Panthers
Pick: Panthers
The Chiefs are finally starting to get the attention that they deserve. They are a very good, efficient football team. The Panthers are finally playing a little closer to the team that skipped to the Super Bowl last year. The home team gets the nod.
Green Bay Packers @ Tennessee Titans
Pick: Titans
No matter how shaky the Packers are playing it's tough to pick against Aaron Rodgers. I'm leaning on the "home team" crutch again.
Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Pick: Eagles
The Falcons have been flying. This just feels like one of those games in which a high-flying team comes a little closer to earth.
Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Pick: Buccaneers
This season is flying by but it feels like a month since the Bears stunned the Vikings on Halloween night. The bye came at a terrible time for the Bears. They got Jay Cutler back under center and they played great against the Vikings and then they had to sit. That sitting could hurt them against the Buccaneers.
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Pick: Jaguars
Coin flip.
Denver Broncos @ New Orleans Saints
Pick: Broncos
The Saints have been playing great but the Broncos are simply a better football team.
Los Angeles Rams @ New York Jets
Pick: Jets
Both teams are struggling offensively. Unless Todd Gurley finally goes off I just don't see the Rams offense scoring enough to win. The Jets haven't been offensive juggernaut either so this one could be a defensive, 9-6 thriller.
Miami Dolphins @ San Diego Chargers
Pick: Chargers
The Dolphins have been surging but they are finally on the road after an unusual four-game home stand. The Chargers might be the best 4-5 team ever.
San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals
Pick: Cardinals
The Cardinals 3-4-1 record is one of the biggest surprises of the season. It's real hard imagining the 49ers taking this game.
Dallas Cowboys @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick: Steelers
Oh boy, these games were a blast in the 1970s. The Steelers didn't look like the Steelers last week. I see the Steelers looking more like the Steelers in this game. This should be a fun one.
Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots
Pick: Patriots
The Seahawks 5-2-1 record says that they are one of the best teams in the league. If strange events hadn't conveniently fallen their way they could easily be closer to 3-5. Under the elfish Pete Carroll they've shown a tendency to start seasons slow and hit their stride later. The fact that so many early games have been handed to them is scary. The Patriots are just cruising along as the best team in the league. Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the boys might have been preparing for this game since the offseason.
Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants
Pick: Giants
Both of these teams are puzzle. Both have exciting playmakers. Both can be electric any week and against any opponent. Both stumble around a lot. Another "home team" crutch game.
