Defensive lineman B.J. DuBose tore his ACL during the OTAs. He's on injured reserve for the year.
A lot has been made of the competition for starters at weak-side linebacker, safety opposite Harrison Smith, and across the offensive line. Those competitions will be fun to watch throughout training camp and the preseason. Especially the offensive line. There are so many contenders there. The Vikings level of talent has increased over recent years to the point where there aren't too many open spots. The competition for those few roster spots will be fun to watch. One in particular competition is that for the fourth defensive end spot. Scott Crichton, Justin Trattou, Zach Moore, and rookie Stephen Weatherly are the contenders. Weatherly might be the favorite for his youth and unique, raw talent. I tap Moore as the wildcard.
The Vikings are holding their mandatory mini-camp this week. Then there's another month to go before the Vikings kickoff their 2016 training camp. So close. Yet still so far away.
