Throwback Thursday: Ranking The Super Bowls

The 50th Super Bowl will take place on Sunday. 50! It's been nearly 40 years since the Minnesota Vikings last played in one of these things. That's a damn shame.

The easiest to rank are the bottom four. The four Super Bowls that the Vikings lost. The first one that they win will shoot to the top of this list. Until then, here's the Flea Flicker ranking of the 49 Super Bowls.

I've always had a fondness for the Steelers-Cowboys Super Bowls of the 1970s. Those teams and those games were very entertaining. Even if both teams kept the Vikings from winning one or two.

I'm thrilled that most of the recent Super Bowls have been terrific games. There was a stretch, pretty much all of the 1980s and most of the 1990s, when most of the big games were terrible, one-sided affairs. Here's hoping that Super Bowl 50 is a keeper.

The big game doesn't look right without the Roman numerals.

Super Bowl L.

That looks right.
