Minnesota Vikings 90-man Roster

The Minnesota Vikings have finally reached the offseason roster limit of 90 players. It had been reported that cornerback Amari Henderson would be signed after a tryout at the rookie minicamp. That was about a month ago. Henderson was signed this week and the roster is now full. 

This offseason, the Vikings have signed six cornerbacks. 

Patrick Peterson

Mackensie Alexander

Bashaud Breeland

Parry Nickerson

Tye Smith

Amari Henderson

Perhaps a surprise to some, the Vikings selected no cornerbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft. No undrafted cornerbacks were signed either. Perhaps that was the plan but four of the six cornerbacks were signed after the draft. Peterson and Alexander were the only cornerback additions signed during the early days of free agency. The Vikings overhauled the cornerback position with youth last year. They have overhauled the position with experienced players this year. Peterson is an All-Decade player. Breeland has been an impact starter since he was drafted in 2014. Alexander is one of the best slot corners in the league. Nickerson and Smith have started NFL games. The six new cornerbacks join a young, talented group. Perhaps as significant as the veteran additions, the rookies last year are no longer rookies. 

The Vikings roster is now at 90-player limit.
