Minnesota Vikings Current Roster

The Minnesota Vikings currently have 71 players on their roster. 20 of those players are scheduled to become free agents when the new league year strikes on March 13. 13 of those free agents will be unrestricted free agents. The return of most, if not all, of those 13 will be a challenge as the Vikings are set to have about $6.8 million in cap room. That's not a lot. The remaining seven free agents (2 restricted, 5 exclusive rights) will likely return if they are in the team's plans.

The biggest of the potential free agents are linebacker Anthony Barr and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. It will take some clever numbers juggling and a few contract re-structures to create the cap room to bring back even one of those players. But Rob Brzezinski is something of a salary cap magician. This might be his toughest act. Even tougher than adding the contract of Kirk Cousins to the mix.
