Offensive Players of the Year: Jake Browning, QB, Wahington
Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year: Adoree' Jackson, DB, USC
Freshman Offensive Player of the Year: Sam Darnold, QB, USC
Freshman Defensive Player of the Year: Taylor Rapp, DB, Washington
Coach of the Year: Mike MacIntyre, Colorado
It's difficult to argue with any of those selections. If Stanford running back Christian McCaffery hadn't missed some time to injury perhaps he takes Browning's place. The scary thing for the rest of the Pac-12 is that Sam Darnold looked like the best thrower in the conference, even better than Browning, once he established himself as USC's starter. The Trojans look like one of the best team's in the nation right now but a poor start before Darnold took over kept them out of the playoffs. He's only a freshman. Oh my.

The only real problem that I have with the First Team selections is Cal receiver Chad Hansen's absence on it. He missed two complete games and took another game or two to get get back to speed. That's probably what put him on the Second. Even missing those games he piled up impressive season stats. 92 catches for 1249 yards and 11 touchdowns. It wasn't so much the numbers but how he got the numbers. He often made the defense in front of him look helpless. They knew that he was getting the ball often and they couldn't stop him. Washington's John Ross had some great moments but Hansen was the best Pac-12 receiver that I saw this season. He might even have been the best college receiver that I saw this season.
The Second Team has a JuJu and a JoJo. Nice.
