Another NFL Sunday without the Minnesota Vikings. That's a damn shame. I wish that they could replay that Vikings-Cowboys game. The result wasn't what it should've been. Here some predictions for the games that will actually be played today and tomorrow night. There's some nice matchups this week.
Denver Broncos @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Pick: Broncos
Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian was terrific in that terrific game against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Now, he's out for this game. Rookie Paxton Lynch gets his second start. I still think that the Broncos take this game.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Atlanta Falcons
Pick: Falcons
This could be a real fun game. The home team gets the nod.
Detroit Lions @ New Orleans Saints
Pick: Saints
This could be a shootout. The Vikings need the Lions to lose at least three of their final five games. Hopefully this is the first one.
Houston Texans @ Green Bay Packers
Pick: Packers
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was great last week. His second touchdown throw to Davante Adams was a beauty. That aren't many quarterbacks that can make that throw. Even fewer that even attempt it.
Los Angeles Rams @ New England Patriots
Pick: Patriots
It's unlikely that the Rams offense is capable of scoring enough points to defeat many teams. Let alone the Patriots. Even without Rob Gronkowski on the field.
Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens
Pick: Ravens
This could be a very good game. With six straight wins the Dolphins are the hottest team in the AFC. The Ravens have a solid defense and a sometimes explosive offense. The Dolphins streak is bound to end and the Ravens are at home. So the Ravens are the pick.
San Francisco 49ers @ Chicago Bears
Pick: 49ers
The 49ers finally get their second win!
Philadelphia Eagles @ Cincinnati Bengals
Pick: Bengals
This just feels like an upset. The Bengals are having a disaster of a season but maybe, just maybe, they can hand the Eagles another road loss.
Buffalo Bills @ Oakland Raiders
Pick: Bills
The Raiders are soaring but they are such a young team that they'll have a road bump along the way. This feels like one of those. Plus, the Bills are a good team.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ San Diego Chargers
Pick: Chargers
The young gun Jameis Winston vs the crafty veteran Philip Rivers. This game could be a blast. Each has an explosive offense. The Chargers have a good defense. The Buccaneers defense looked like a whole new beast against the Seattle Seahawks last week.
New York Giants @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick: Steelers
This is another game that could have some fireworks. I'm thinking that the Steelers have a few more of those fireworks.
Washington Redskins @ Arizona Cardinals
Pick: Cardinals
This game feels a little like the Eagles-Bengals game. The Bengals and the Cardinals entered the season with realistic Super Bowl dreams. Both had their seasons fall apart for a variety of reasons. The difference in this game is that the Redskins are playing much better than the Eagles. I still pick the Cardinals in a home upset.
Carolina Panthers @ Seattle Seahawks
Pick: Seahawks
I have to think that the Seahawks rebound from their surprising loss to the Buccaneers.
Indianapolis Colts @ New York Jets
Pick: Colts
The Colts get Andrew Luck back. Luck under center keeps them in just about any game. This has been a disappointing season for the Jets but they still have a team that's talented enough to rise up any given week. They threw a scare into the Patriots last week. I think that Luck leads the Colts to a win in something close to a shootout.
