Minnesota Vikings 2000s All-Decade Team

Finally, the last of the All-Decade Teams of the Minnesota Vikings. The 2000s started about as horribly as a decade could start, a blowout in the NFC Championship and worst of all the tragic death of Korey Stringer. But it ended great with Adrian Peterson and the 2009 season. Unfortunately, as with every great Vikings season, 2009 ended a game short of truly great.

Minnesota Vikings 2000s All-Decade Team

Offense

Quarterback
Daunte Culpepper

It's a damn shame that a knee injury ended Culpepper's Vikings career, and essentially his NFL career. A sad parade of QBs followed Culpepper. Until 2009.

Running backs
Adrian Peterson
Chester Taylor

Receivers
Randy Moss
Cris Carter

Tight End
Jim Kleinsasser

Tackles
Bryant McKinnie
Phil Loadholt

While McKinnie makes this team there might not be a more disappointing player in Vikings history. He had the size, power, and mobility to be one of the best tackles to ever play. He made a single Pro Bowl when he had the talent to make a dozen. His single Pro Bowl was in 2009 when the whole offense simply clicked with Brett Favre. And he was sent home from that Pro Bowl for being a turd. Fitting.

Guards
Steve Hutchinson
David Dixon

Center
Matt Birk

Defense

Defensive ends
Jared Allen
Kenny Mixon

Defensive tackles
Kevin Williams
Pat Williams

Linebackers
Chad Greenway
EJ Henderson
Ben Leber

Cornerbacks
Antoine Winfield
Cedric Griffen

Safeties
Corey Chavous
Brian Russell

Based on his play on the field (other than 2008) Darren Sharper should be one of the safeties. But I just can't.

Special Teams

Kicker
Ryan Longwell

Punter
Chris Kluwe

Kick Returner
Percy Harvin

Punt Returner
Mewelde Moore
