Steal A Player - AFC

Here’s a little exercise to pass the time between now and the start of training camps. I’m going to steal a player from each AFC team to help the Minnesota Vikings. For the most part, I’m looking for a player that fills one of the Vikings biggest needs. Most of those needs are on the defense as that entire unit is pretty much an unknown. While I like the current progression of the offensive line, there’s room for improvement on the interior. The tackles are good. It’s time to steal some players from theAFC teams.

Baltimore Ravens
Roquan Smith, LB
I couldn’t believe that the Chicago Bears traded Roquan Smith to the Ravens last season. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the middle of the Vikings defense.

Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow, QB
There are a few quarterbacks in the league that I’d steal in a second. Joe Burrow is one of them. I’d love to see him throw to Justin Jefferson again.

Cleveland Browns
Myles Garrett, Edge
Not much thought is needed here.

Pittsburgh Steelers
T.J. Watt, Edge
Not much thought is needed here.

Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen, QB
Here’s another one of those quarterbacks that must be stolen.

Miami Dolphins
Christian Wilkins, DT
I’ve liked Christian Wilkins since his Clemson days.

New England Patriots
Christian Barmore, DT
I believe that Christian Barmore is on track to be one of the league’s elite defensive linemen. I’d love to see him with the Vikings.

New York Jets
Sauce Gardner, CB
It’s gotta be Sauce.

Houston Texans
Derek Stingley Jr., CB
He wasn’t the instant rookie hit that Sauce was but Derek Stingley Jr has the talent to be one of the league’s best cover corners.

Indianapolis Colts
Quenton Nelson, G
For a team in need of an interior presence on the offensive line it’s easy to steal one of the league’s best guards. The Colts had a down year last year but Nelson is one of the league’s best guards.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Josh Allen, Edge
Another Josh Allen. I think this Josh Allen is finally reaching his potential as a pass rusher.

Tennessee Titans
Jeffery Simmons, DT
This is another real easy choice.

Denver Broncos
Patrick Surtain II, CB
Patrick Surtain II is one of those corners that seems to make the position look easy. He always seems to be in control. He never looks in trouble. I see why Jalen Ramsey and Sauce Gardner get so much attention but Surtain is fast becoming my favorite corner.

Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes, QB
Nuf said.

Las Vegas Raiders
Maxx Crosby, Edge
Maxx Crosby has become one of the league’s most impactful pass rushers.

Los Angeles Chargers
Derwin James, S
I consider safety a strength of the Vikings. If you have the opportunity, Derwin James is the sort of player that you steal. He’s just a different football player.
