No 84! For the first time in a while, there’s no #84 on the roster. Perhaps it’s finally time to retire the number that Randy Moss made beautiful. Free agent tight end Josh Oliver wore the number in Baltimore. With “80” and “88” already retired, “84” is the only available number in the 80s. We’ll see.
“0” is now available to players. After wearing the number at Cincinnati, I was expecting Ivan Pace Jr. would wear it in the NFL. Rumor has it that free agent edge rusher Marcus Davenport will be wearing “0.”
Kicker Jack Podlesny is currently wearing “46.” Last offseason, undrafted punter Ryan Wright wore “66” through OTAs and training camp. He wore it well. He wore it so well that many hoped that he’d continue wearing it when he made the team. He switched to “14” after winning the punting competition. If Podlesny wins the kicking competition, he’ll be switching to a kicker number.
