The NFL Divisions Ranked By Their Quarterbacks

With the recent quarterback transaction as well as the interesting quarterback movement throughout this offseason, I was thinking about where the NFL's 32 teams stand at this important position. How better to see that than to rank the divisions based on the quarterbacks that play for those teams.

NFC West
49ers: Jimmy Garoppolo
Seahawks: Russell Wilson
Rams: Jared Goff
Cardinals: Kyler Murray

NFC South
Saints: Drew Brees
Falcons: Matt Ryan
Buccaneers: Tom Brady
Panthers: Teddy Bridgewater

NFC North
Vikings: Kirk Cousins
Packers: Aaron Rodgers
Lions: Matthew Stafford
Bears: Mitchell Trubisky/Nick Foles

AFC South
Texans: DeShaun Watson
Titans: Ryan Tannehill
Colts: Philip Rivers
Jaguars: Gardner Minshew II

AFC North
Ravens: Lamar Jackson
Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger
Bengals: Joe Burrow
Browns: Baker Mayfield

NFC East
Eagles: Carson Wentz
Cowboys: Dak Prescott
Giants: Daniel Jones
Redskins: Dwayne Haskins

AFC East
Patriots: Cam Newton
Bills: Josh Allen
Jets: Sam Darnold

To be honest, I was surprised when I settled on the NFC West as the division presently set with the best four quarterbacks. Three of the division's quarterbacks have guided their team to the Super Bowl. The fourth is one of the most gifted and intriguing young quarterbacks in the league. The NFC South also has three quarterbacks that have guided their team to Super Bowls. Two have won a Super Bowl. One has won a ridiculous six Super Bowls. I have the NFC West ahead of the NFC South for the simple reason that three of the West's quarterbacks are in the prime of their career and the fourth hasn't reached his. It's safe to say that Tom Brady and Drew Brees, while still terrific, are in the twilight of their careers.

Despite the Bears' uneasy quarterback situation, I have the NFC North with the third best quartet of quarterbacks. If their teams can get on a roll, I believe that Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, or Matthew Stafford could still be playing in February. Cousins and Rodgers in particular.

The AFC North is the division in the bottom half that could easily shoot up the list.

It's interesting that the division with the league's best quarterback (Patrick Mahomes) is at the bottom.
