Draft Early Entries

With the college football season and bowl games in the rear view mirror it's time for some student-athletes to make an important decision. Should I stay or should I go? Should I stay in college or should I go to the NFL Draft, the money, and my football dreams? These kids have until January 15 to file declaration papers with the league. Many have already made that decision. 89 have decided to leave college early.

A punter (Michael Dickson) and a kicker (Eddy Pineiro)? I hope that they fair better than the last specialist that left early.

As the son of Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie it'll be interesting to see the draft evaluation and selection process of Tennessee defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie. It would be fun to see father draft son so that the Raiders can field a defensive line with Khalil Mack and Kahlil McKenzie on it.

103 players left college with eligibility remaining last year. That fell just short of the record 107 that left early in 2016. Unless there's a great run to declare between now and the 15th. I'm guessing the numbers this year will fall short of the numbers seen the last two years.

While many players have decided to leave some have decided to stay in school.
