It can be a daring move to go with only two quarterbacks. Recent practice squad addition Kyle Sloter is essentially the third quarterback.

Center isn't really as undermanned as it appears. Joe Berger and Nick Easton can play the position. Easton competed with Elflein for the position throughout training camp and the preseason. If something were to happen to Elflein one of Easton or Berger (probably Easton) would move to center and Jeremiah Sirles or Danny Isidora (probably Sirles) would move up to the 1s at guard. Then everyone involved with the team would pray that Elflein isn't out for long.

While the top players on the defensive line will get the majority of the snaps all nine will play. This is a very talented group from top to bottom and the Vikings coaches will rotate them a lot to take advantage of it.

We might not know the nickel corner until he takes the field against the New Orleans Saints next Monday night. Mackensie Alexander had it through training camp and the preseason but he had some rough moments. Ageless Terence Newman could replace him. Recent trade acquisition Tramaine Brock might make the position his once he's comfortable in the defense.

Real football's nearly here.
