Free Agency So Far

There's no waiting around in NFL Free Agency these days. The two-day legal tampering window has changed everything. There are no more visits for most of the top free agents and even some of the "lower" ones. Teams have to sign players without seeing them or risk losing them. This is actually a bummer for the players. They are no longer wined and dined during the courting stages of free agency. Who in the NFL, outside of Thomas Dimitroff, doesn't like a great steak? Even though it's not allowed during the tampering window, teams and agents agree to deals by text and phone rather than face-to-face. Teams don't even see the player until the signing and introductory presser. In the pre-2013, pre-tampering days teams would still be loving on the top available players on day three of free agency. Now they are looking at the second wave of players or turning completely to the draft.
