Jersey Sales

Jersey sales as a measure of anything can lead to many conclusions. First and foremost, it reveals the popularity of a particular player. It can also reveal the popularity of a particular team. Sales can be influenced by a player's time in the league. A rookie is going to sell a lot of jerseys simply because he didn't have one before. Sales can also get a boost if the team has changed it's uniform. Jersey sales can reveal many things. The thing that matters most to those working in 345 Park Avenue and to 32 professional football teams is all the damn money that sales of jerseys bring.

The Minnesota Vikings have four players on the list. Teddy Bridgewater (34), Harrison Smith (41), Stefon Diggs (43), and Adrian Peterson (49). Bridgewater didn't play at all in 2016 but everyone loves Teddy. Peterson didn't play much. This is probably the lowest ranking that he's seen in his career. Actually, he might have been lower in 2014 when he missed the season to Roger Goodell's random and nutty disciplining.

The Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys paced the league with five players each.
Seahawks: Russell Wilson (6), Richard Sherman (21), Tyler Lockett (39), Kam Chancellor (47), Jimmy Graham (50)
Cowboys: Ezekiel Elliott (2), Dez Bryant (3), Dak Prescott (8), Jason Witten (13), Tony Romo (15)
The Cowboys have a third of the top-15. They must really be "America's Team."

The New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Oakland Raiders each placed three players on the list.

Six quarterbacks were in the top-10. Surprise!
