Maryland needs a new flag so that their University's football team never wears those helmets again. Ever.
The Minnesota Vikings horrible game on Thursday opened up my viewing schedule today. That's bad and good. Bad because the Vikings aren't playing today to make up for that mirage on Thursday. Good because I get to take full advantage of my Sunday Ticket access. Here are the morning games:
Chicago at Carolina
Buffalo at Detroit
Houston at Dallas
Baltimore at Indianapolis
St. Louis at Philadelphia
Cleveland at Tennessee
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
Tampa Bay at New Orleans
Atlanta at New York Giants
Interesting games. I'm leaning towards watching the Houston-Dallas game. J.J. Watt against the Cowboys offensive line should be a treat. If Atlanta can play on the road more like the play at home, their game against the Giants could be very interesting. I can find interest in all of these games. Even Steelers-Jaguars. I really want to stick to one game. Right now that game is probably Houston-Dallas unless another turns truly compelling and pulls me away.
The afternoon brings us these:
Arizona at Denver
New York Jets at San Diego
Kansas City at San Francisco
Cardinals-Broncos looks like the most attractive but this is still a tough call. I'll probably settle on that one but Chiefs-49ers could be terrific. The 49ers really need to start playing to their talent level for four quarters. Everyone seems to be Chiefs-crazy after their demolition of the Patriots. That was more about the Patriots floundering ways than the Chiefs being a rejuvenated powerhouse. Getting a healthy Jamaal Charles back is a huge boon.
In the evening, we have the Cincinnati Bengals visiting the New England Patriots. The Bengals are one of two undefeated teams (the Cardinals are the other) and the Patriots have been pretty sad. The Patriots are too talented to stay pretty sad unless everyone honking about Tom Brady being done are right. I don't think that they are. This is the perfect game and setting for the Patriots to stand up. The Bengals are a very talented team and they are playing well on both sides of the ball. This could be a terrific game. I sure hope so.
Looks like a great day of football. It could be made even better if the NFL decides to let the Vikings return to Green Bay and replay that damn game.
