If Kahlil Mack somehow makes it to the Oakland Raiders at #5, I hope that the Minnesota Vikings would go "all-in" on a trade and move up to that spot. Mack is my top choice in the entire 2014 NFL Draft for my team. After that, I think that I'd be pretty happy any of the following players with the #8 pick:
Anthony Barr
Teddy Bridgewater
Aaron Donald
Justin Gilbert
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Darqueze Dennard
C.J. Mosley
Ryan Shazier
Johnny Manziel
I'd be a fool not to be happy with Sammy Watkins, or even Mike Evans, but I'd be very surprised if the Vikings drafted a receiver. Right now, I have Anthony Barr as the pick. I've had an increasingly strong feeling that he's the Vikings choice if Mack, as expected, is not there. Barr is a very unique defensive player. I think that new head coach Mike Zimmer would have a lot of fun designing plays and schemes that utilize Barr's tremendous athletic abilities. He's still something of a wildcard as a linebacker as he only played the position for two years. The list of players that I like for the Vikings at #8 is long because of the amount of talent in this draft. The Vikings general need of talent throughout the defense only adds to that. I have a hunch that Teddy Bridgewater is the top quarterback for the quarterback-needy Vikings. Unlike most, I think that his recent slide in draft popularity is a bunch of hooey. My goodness, this wait for the draft can't end soon enough.
I keep putting Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald with the Dallas Cowboys. He shouldn't make it that far. I really, really don't want to see him in Chicago.
This is the final Flea Flicker Mock Draft for the 2014 NFL Draft. There have been too many but they have all been fun. I truly think that Commissioner Roger "the Goods" Goodell made a serious mistake when he pushed the draft back two weeks. I'm sure that he had some of his own reasons for doing this. The stated reason was a minor scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall. The conflict ended up being even less than minor. It ended up being non-existent. It's a real shame. As the two week wait is an absolute disaster. An absolute disaster.
