Minnesota Vikings 2024 Draft Picks

Over his nearly two years as the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has shown a willingness to trade. During the draft, offseason, in-season, he trades for football players and draft picks like he once traded commodities. Since the currency for trades is often draft picks, it can be a chore to keep track of the Vikings future draft picks. After two deadline deals on Tuesday, I was curious as to the picks that the Vikings still have in the 2024 NFL Draft. I thank the fine folks at the Daily Norseman for also being curious about the picks and especially for doing all of the work.

Minnesota Vikings 2024 NFL Draft Picks
Here’s what they have:
Round 1
Round 2
Round 4
Round 4 (from Detroit - T.J. Hockenson trade)
Round 5 (from Cleveland - Za’Darius Smith trade)
Round 5 (from Kansas City - 2023 draft trade)
Round 6 (from Jacksonville - Ezra Cleveland trade)
Round 6 (from New England - Vederian Lowe trade)
Round 7 (from Arizona - Josh Dobbs trade, could be a 6th)

Picks traded away:
Round 3 (to Detroit - T.J. Hockenson trade)
Round 5 (to Philadelphia - Jalen Reagor trade)
Round 6 (to Los Angeles Rams - Cam Akers trade)
Round 7 (to Las Vegas - Nick Mullens trade)

Nine picks. After all the dealing, that’s about two more picks than I thought the Vikings had. No pick in the third round isn’t great. I hate sitting out an entire round of the draft. It was the second round last year. Both picks were sent to the Detroit Lions in the T.J. Hockenson trade. He’s worth it. At least the Vikings got two fourth-round picks in return.

It’s interesting that only three of the picks are original picks of the Vikings.

Nine picks! If the past two years are any indication, the Vikings will select a player with few of those picks.
