The second half of the 2019 NFL season begins. Here's a guess at the outcomes of the Week 9 games.
Byes: Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints
Minnesota Vikings @ Kansas City Chiefs
Pick: Vikings
Big game.
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Pick: Texans
Another London game. Of all the teams forced to travel across the Atlantic for a game, the Jaguars are the team that's most comfortable with it. They volunteer for it. It really is a home game for them. Despite losing J.J. Watt for the season Deshaun Watson finds a way for the visiting Texans to win.
Washington Redskins @ Buffalo Bills
Pick: Bills
A good way to get over a loss is to play the Redskins.
New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins
Pick: Jets
The Dolphins were a little feisty against the Steelers on Monday. I still can't pick a team that's decided to lay down for a season.
Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles
Pick: Eagles
Going with the home team in a battle of teams that expected to have a few more wins than they do.
Indianapolis Colts @ Mason Rudolph
Pick: Colts
I have much more faith in Jacoby Brissett making the plays needed to win than Mason Rudolph.
Tennessee Titans @ Carolina Panthers
Pick: Panthers
The Panthers have to rebound from that demolition in San Francisco.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks
Pick: Seahawks
When these two teams play, I often think of the 1970s days when they entered the league together.
Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos
Pick: Browns
If the Browns can't beat a Brandon Allen-led Broncos team, next week's press conferences with Baker Mayfield will be the saucy sort of things that get everyone atwitter.
Detroit Lions @ Oakland Raiders
Pick: Raiders
After a nice start to the season the Lions seem to be doing Lions things.
Green Bay Packers @ Los Angeles Chargers
Pick: Packers
As a Vikings fan, I'd love to see the Packers stumble all over a Chargers team that's done nothing but stumble all over themselves. But I don't think it happens.
New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens
Pick: Ravens
The Patriots have to lose eventually. Right?
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Pick: Cowboys
The last time the Cowboys played in New Jersey they lost to the Jets. Could it happen again? I doubt it.
