USA Today's Andrew Joseph searched NFL stadiums for the best new menu items at the concession stands. Here are the 10 most outrageous stadium foods that he found.
10. Dungeness Crab Pretzel- San Francisco 49ers
The Dungeness Crab Pretzel includes knuckle and claw meat mixed with garlic aioli, dijon mustard, and chives on a butter-toasted pretzel baguette.
This alone could be reason to visit Levi's Stadium.
9. Fried PB&J-Buffalo Bills
A hand-dipped and fried crust-less peanut butter and jelly sandwich that gets served on a stick with powdered sugar.
I'll never understand the great need to deep-fry everything.
8. Red Zone Bratwurst-Cleveland Browns
Chef Michael Symon helped create it so that's a fine start. This take on a stadium staple is a beer bratwurst, caraway Cleveland kraut, spicy mustard, and Tony Paco's pickles.
7. Dessert Nachos-Detroit Lions
Fired tortilla chips dusted with cinnamon and sugar, topped with a smoked chocolate cherry Nutella sauce, chocolate covered Michigan cherries, sprinkles, and whipped cream.
It had me at "smoked chocolate cherry Nutella sauce."
6. Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya-Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguar's Jambalaya includes braised chicken thighs, andouille sausage, Creole sauce, and veggies served over dirty rice.
5. Battle Red Tacos-Houston Texans
It takes a maniac to foul up a taco and we found one. I'm no fan of Flamin' Hot Cheetos but many are. This was made for them. The Battle Red Tacos include Flamin' Hot Cheetos-crusted chicken tenders, mango pico de gallo, Sriracha mayonnaise and flour tortillas.
4. Brat in a Blanket-Green Bay Packers
The Brat in a Blanket is a brat wrapped in melted cheese curds, topped with beer mustard in a pretzel bun.
I'd go to Lambeau to give this a whirl.
3. The Pit Bull-Washington Redskins
A foot-long, all-beef hot dog with a horseradish mustard sauce, plenty of pit beef. and giardiniera.
I'd try this.
2. Kingdom Inferno Chicken Sandwich-Kansas City Chiefs
The sandwich includes hand-breaded chicken tenders, Carolina reaper pepper mayo, pepper jack cheese, sliced jalapenos, buffalo sauce, and a brioche bun.
This sounds fantastic if you can handle the heat. I'm not sure that I can handle this sort of heat.
1. Gridiron Burger Challenge-Arizona Cardinals
I heard about this beast a week ago. It contains:
5 1/3-pound burger patties
5 hot dogs
5 bratwursts
20 slices of American cheese
8 slices of bacon
8 chicken tenders
12 ounces of fries
lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and "tanker" sauce
all of the above jammed between 10-inch buns
Only six of these are being made each game. If a single person can eat it in an hour, he or she will be recognized on on the video board and take home a Cardinals jersey. They might be taking home a lot more than that.
Of the 10, I'd most like to consume the Dungeness Crab Pretzel.
