Throwback Thursday: Ranking the Super Bowls Again

Many people have quickly ranked Super Bowl LI as the best ever. The New England Patriots' stunning comeback and overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons was great. There's no doubting that. A 25-point comeback. The first overtime. Both are impressive credentials. With more reflection and some time maybe I'll come to the same conclusion. A conclusion that Super Bowl LI was the best Super Bowl. Right now, I don't see it that way. The Falcons took advantage of a couple of Patriots miscues to rocket out to a 21-0 lead. It was 21-3 at the half and 28-3 with just over 23 minutes to play. The game was more one-sided than great for most of it. The game wasn't about two great teams taking swings at each other throughout as some of the great Super Bowls that came before it. It was more of a game of one-sided runs. The Falcons staked a big lead. The Patriots dismantled it. Again, I might warm to this game in time but right now I see it as merely one of the best Super Bowls. Here's how I see the 51 Super Bowls.
