Minnesota Vikings Week 4 Superlatives

In past weeks, the Minnesota Vikings have had a handful of contenders for game superlatives. Even in the previous two losses. There aren’t a lot of contenders for Week 4 Superlatives. The 14-7 loss to the Cleveland Browns left a lot to be desired. It was another winnable loss. The defense played well enough to win. The offense did not. As for special teams, the punt team was on the field too often and the kick team wasn’t on the field often enough.

Offensive Player of the Week
Justin Jefferson scored the lone touchdown. He had six catches for 84 yards. He had a 37-yard catch erased when Tyler Conklin did more than is allowed in trying to slow Myles Garrett’s pass rush. The only real Vikings positive on offense was Jefferson.

Defensive Player of the Week
Everson Griffen had a big sack. Dalvin Tomlinson had his first sack with the Vikings. Danielle Hunter could be the pick every week. He’s the pick this week.
7 tackles
5 solo tackles
1 tackle for loss
1 sack
He’s a beast.

Special Teams Player of the Week
I have three contenders for the special teams player of the week.
Blake Lynch had some nice punt coverage.
Jordan Berry was unfortunately one of the more active Vikings players.
6 punts, 48.5 avg.
Greg Joseph was successful on his lone extra point attempt.
The pick:
Greg Joseph. He put a point on the board.
