2018 NFL Draft Attendees

The NFL announced on Thursday a list of 22 prospects that will be attending the 2018 NFL Draft in Dallas, April 26-28.

The 22 prospects.

Jaire Alexenader, CB, Louisville
Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
Taven Bryan, DT, Florida
Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina State
Sam Darnold, QB, USC
Marcus Davenport, DE, Texas-San Antonio
Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
Minkah Pitzpartrick, DB, Alabama
Shaquem Griffen, LB, Central Florida
Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa
Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
Derwin James, S, Florida State
Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA
Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State
Vita Vea, DT, Washington
Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State
Connor Williams, OT, Texas

They got the top quarterbacks minus Baker Mayfield. About 95% of the draft chatter since the end of the college football season has been about the quarterbacks. That percentage has only gone up in recent weeks. Football is all about the quarterbacks so the more in Dallas the better.

The NFL is really trying to get their money out of Central Florida linebacker Shaquen Griffen. The league's interest in Griffen would feel more genuine if he didn't have to fight for his presence at the Scouting Combine. Griffen's story is tremendous. Almost as tremendous as his football ability. He was last season's American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He's been excelling at football long before the league's recent spotlight on him. Still, his selection before the third day of the draft is probably optimistic. These draft invites go to players that are expected to be selected on the first night. He'll likely have the longest wait in the Green Room. Griffen's thrilled with the invite and that's really all that matters.

Vita Vea's full name:
Tevita Tuli'aki'ono Tuipulotu Mosese Va'hae Fehoko Faletau Vea
My goodness, I would love to hear Roger Goodell take a swing at Vea's full name.

Last year, the NFL also hosted 22 prospects at the draft in Philadelphia. Six of those prospects were among first ten selections.

Best of luck to this year's draft attendees and all of this year's football players with NFL dreams.
